The OnePlus 7 PRO 256GB ROM + 12GB RAM Dual-SIM (GSM, CDMA) Factory Unlocked 4G/LTE Smartphone - International Version (Nebula Blue) represents a significant leap in smartphone technology, combining cutting-edge hardware with an elegant design. Released in May 2019, the OnePlus 7 PRO was a pivotal model for the brand, marking its transition into the premium smartphone market. This review will delve into the device's specifications, performance, user experience, and how it stacks up against competitors in the same price range.
OnePlus has built a reputation for delivering high-performance smartphones at competitive prices, and the OnePlus 7 PRO is no exception. With a Snapdragon 855 processor, up to 12GB of RAM, and a 256GB internal storage option, this device is designed to handle demanding applications and multitasking with ease. The AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate not only enhances the visual experience but also provides smoother scrolling and improved responsiveness, making it ideal for gaming and media consumption.
In terms of design, the Nebula Blue variant stands out with its striking gradient finish that shifts from deep blue to a lighter hue. The device features a glass back and an aluminum frame, giving it a premium feel while maintaining durability. The 6.67-inch display is nearly bezel-less, providing an immersive viewing experience that is ideal for streaming videos or playing games. The pop-up selfie camera is a unique feature that maximizes screen real estate and adds to the phone's modern aesthetic.
Battery life is another crucial aspect of any smartphone, and the OnePlus 7 PRO does not disappoint. With a 4000mAh battery, it easily lasts a full day of heavy usage. The Warp Charge 30 technology allows for rapid charging, enabling you to power up quickly, which is especially useful for users who are always on the go. Furthermore, the device runs on OxygenOS, which is known for its clean interface and customization options, enhancing the overall user experience.
However, the OnePlus 7 PRO is not without its drawbacks. While the device excels in performance and design, it lacks an official IP rating for water and dust resistance, which may be a concern for some users. Additionally, the camera performance, while good, does not quite match up to that of competitors like the Samsung Galaxy S10 or the Google Pixel 3, particularly in low-light conditions.
To provide a comprehensive understanding of the OnePlus 7 PRO, we will compare it with similar devices in its class, examine its performance metrics, and explore its strengths and weaknesses in real-world scenarios.

Performance and User Experience
Performance is where the OnePlus 7 PRO truly shines. The Snapdragon 855 processor, coupled with 12GB of RAM, allows for seamless multitasking and efficient handling of resource-intensive applications. During testing, the device easily managed multiple applications running simultaneously without any noticeable lag. Gaming performance is equally impressive; titles like PUBG and Call of Duty Mobile ran smoothly at high settings, providing an enjoyable gaming experience.
The 90Hz refresh rate of the Fluid AMOLED display enhances the overall user experience, especially during scrolling and gaming. This feature is particularly noticeable when browsing social media or navigating through menus, where the fluidity of motion is significantly improved compared to standard 60Hz displays. The color accuracy and brightness levels are commendable, making it suitable for outdoor usage as well.
Battery performance is robust, with the 4000mAh battery easily lasting a full day even with heavy usage, including streaming videos, gaming, and web browsing. The Warp Charge 30 technology is a standout feature, allowing the device to charge from 0 to 50% in approximately 20 minutes, which is a significant advantage for users who need quick top-ups throughout the day.
OxygenOS, the custom skin on top of Android, is another highlight. It offers a clean and intuitive interface, with minimal bloatware and a variety of customization options. Users can tweak the look and feel of their device to suit their preferences, enhancing the overall user experience.
Camera Capabilities
The camera system on the OnePlus 7 PRO is a triple-lens setup that includes a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP telephoto lens, and a 16MP ultra-wide lens. While the camera performs well in good lighting conditions, it struggles slightly in low-light scenarios compared to competitors like the Google Pixel 3. The Nightscape mode helps improve low-light photography, but results can be inconsistent.
In daylight, the photos are vibrant with good detail, and the ultra-wide lens is particularly useful for landscape photography. The telephoto lens provides decent zoom capabilities, but the quality diminishes at higher zoom levels. The 16MP pop-up selfie camera captures sharp images, and the portrait mode adds a nice bokeh effect, making it suitable for social media enthusiasts.
