The Canon EOS 90D is a significant upgrade from its predecessor, the EOS 80D, offering enhanced features that cater to a wide range of photography needs. Key improvements include a higher resolution sensor, advanced autofocus capabilities, and the ability to record 4K video without a crop. This makes it an excellent choice for wildlife and sports photographers who require fast performance and high image quality.
The 32.5MP APS-C sensor not only delivers stunning detail but also performs exceptionally well in low-light conditions, thanks to its wide ISO range of 100-25,600 (expandable to 51,200). The Dual Pixel AF system, with 45 cross-type AF points, ensures quick and accurate focusing, which is critical when capturing fast-moving subjects. The Sony Alpha a6400, while a mirrorless option, boasts an impressive autofocus system with 425 phase-detection points. However, it does not provide the same ergonomic handling and battery life as the EOS 90D, making it less suitable for extended outdoor use.
